"Spoken word poetry (spoken word) combines the worlds of performance and the written word for a dynamic poetry style captivating audiences worldwide. With it being the foundation of the hip hop expression emceeing, spoken word is delivered with a passion and a flare that is not present in your traditional poetry readings. In this workshop, I will use my 10 plus years of creating and performing spoken word, to take your words from the 2-D page to the 3-D stage. I'll show you how to begin writing your spoken word piece; How to add or delete details that will make your pieces stronger; How to command the stage with your voice and presence, with some tips on memorization, and overcoming stage fright. All this will be covered and you will have the opportunity share your poetry during this workshop to receive positive constructive critiques on how to make your poetry better. It will be fun, informative, and interactive. Come out to the spoken word poetry workshop, make your presence felt, then kick it with me at the show."
