Join us September 11th, and every 2nd Friday of the month, for an open mic and featured poet from Speakyoursoul.org or the Tacoma community. We will begin at 8pm; open mic sign-ups will also start at 8pm. The open mic is open to all styles of poetry, especially poems intended to build a better world.

Terra Joy Jones a recent Cornish College of the Arts Graduate has primarily participated in local Seattle shows, such as WELL and The Vertical Hour put on by Artwest Theater and The True Story of Halle Bere put on by the Central District Forum. Being Terra's first performance in front of the Tacoma community she is excited to finally have the opportunity to expand her network of artistic friends from Seattle to Tacoma.
Qadriyyah Shabazz, 20 years old and originally from the Tacoma area is currently a junior at Cornish College of he Arts. She is very active in her community ; performing with the Mt. Zion liturgical praise dancers, calljeon at Langston Hughes performance art center, and writing and performing her own pieces of work whenever she gets the chance. The poems that will be performed will cover compelling yet sensitive issues that are not the least bit sugar coated but raw and real to magnify the reality of drugs, abuse, poverty, and woman's rights.
