Distinguished Writer Series and Open Mic.

This month features poet Justen Ahren, followed by an Open Mic open to all poets. Sign-up is at 6:30 pm. Admission is free. The event occurs monthly the second Friday of every month at King's Books. Sponsored by the Puget Sound Poetry Connection and the Tacoma Arts Commission.

Justen Ahren lives on Martha's Vineyard, a small island off the coast of Massachusetts. He runs a poetry reading series, teaches poetry, and is founder and director of the Martha's Vineyard Writers Residency. For the past several winters he has been traveling to and writing in Latin America. These travels have greatly influenced his current collection of poetry, Gone. Justen received his MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College, Boston.
