Speak Your Soul was founded in 2007 by Zach Street to promote both Spoken Word poetry and the participation of every individual in the betterment of our world. Inspired by the belief that everyone has something unique and essential to offer the world, Speak Your Soul invites you to explore the world around you, express your unique wisdom, and engage your passions to improve the world: Think. Speak. Change the World.
Speak Your Soul believes in the power of the Spoken Word and is devoted to helping poets share their wisdom with the world. You will find a growing selection of Spoken Word poems on the Speak section of Speakyoursoul.org. Knowing that creative self-expression in any form can be an essential and powerful force for positive change, Speak Your Soul has also created a space for poetry in written form on the Think section of Speakyoursoul.org. Writers and artists all of forms of expression are welcome to contact Speak Your Soul to seek ways to partner in improving our world.
The Speak Your Soul Tacoma Team currently hosts a regular open mic in Tacoma, WA and Speak Your Soul: Hawai'i Island now hosts open mics in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawai'i.
